MN CREP

MN CREP is a voluntary, federal-state funded natural resource conservation program that uses a science based approach to target environmentally sensitive land in 54 Counties in southern and western Minnesota. This is accomplished through permanent protection by establishing conservation practices via payments to farmers and agricultural land owners. For more information, click here.

RIM Wetlands

Restoring the most productive wetland habitat in Minnesota will protect and restore previously drained wetlands and adjacent native grasslands on easements across the State. BWSR has received funding through the Outdoor Heritage Fund (from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment) and Clean Water Funds for RIM Wetland easements. The Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) will utilize the Reinvest in Minnesota (RIM) easement program in partnership with local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) to target, protect and restore high priority habitat complexes. For more information, click here.

Local Government Road Wetland Replacement Program

The Local Government Road Wetland Replacement Program (LGRWRP) was established to provide wetland mitigation for certain qualifying road reconstruction, repair and rehabilitation projects conducted by local road authorities (cities, townships, counties). BWSR provides wetland mitigation for wetland impacts incurred as a result of a qualifying project. Prior to program establishment in 1996, road authorities were responsible for providing their own wetland mitigation for such projects. Local road authorities must follow the required process to take advantage of the program. For more information, click here.
